A Paper Florist’s Guide to Food in Freo

A Paper Florist’s Guide to Food in Freo

Our Paper Flower Studio is a bit of a hidden gem. Nestled in what used to be a diesel mechanic’s workshop, we’re tucked away in the quiet part of Freo, just a stone’s throw away from the busy part of town.

Every Friday, we venture out to the city center on a treasure hunt for the best locally- made goods to serve at our Workshops. Whether we’re making Paper Dahlias with Coffee & Cake, or Paper Proteas with Wine & Cheese, we love plying our guests with yummy treats and goodies to keep them nourished as they craft.

Here’s our guide to the best food in Freo.

Stackwood Cafe

If you’re lucky enough to grab tickets to a morning workshop, you’ll get to order your drink of choice from Stackwood Cafe (right next door to our studio). Filled with plants and wholesome wares of all kinds, Stackwood boasts fresh organic chais, the entire range of milk alternatives and the friendliest baristas you’ll ever meet.

Freo Markets for Fruit & Flowers

A classic Freo treasure teeming with stores and tourists, here you’ll find fresh fruit piled high like glistening jewels. Be it juicy strawberries, blueberries or grapes, we love having so many choices of what’s in season. Donna from the Freo Florist is right next door, with the most intricately arranged bouquets made fresh daily.

Artisan Dough

Flaky croissants, velvety brownies and rich carrot cakes galore…handmade baked goods just hit different. Gluten-free friends we got you, or at least Dnk Cupcakes do, with countless options for icing-topped, adorably decorated goods.

Wise Child Wine Store

Welcome home to your one-stop bottle shop. Although rose’s are our go-to pick for workshops (I mean, they’re pink and on-brand so of course), their range of reds, whites and sparkling mean there’s something for everyone.

Little Sister Delicatessen

From humble beginnings, Little Sister began as a small deli counter in Kakulas Sister, and now have their own specially designed shop offering the best range of artisanal cheese, charcuterie, antipasti and more. Trust us, your cheeseboard will thank you later.

Enjoy checking them out! And thank you for supporting local.
